How do I find the bar?
The bar is on the street Eerikintatu 6, right in the centre of Turku. Check our how to find us page for more info.
My band wants to play at the Castle what should I do?
The Castle Bar hosts bands whose lyrics are sung in English (or Celtic). However, this is not an absolute rule. Please contact the bar manager to enquire about playing at the Castle or drop into the bar and speak to the staff.
What sports are usually shown on the big screen?
Usually the English Premier league football matches, big rugby matches, and ice hockey from Finland and the USA. But see the next question for more info.
How do I know what sports games you are showing and what time they are on?
We'll show any big sporting event if it's on Viasat Sport 1, and Canal+ Sports.
If the weekly listings aren't on our T.V. Sports page then check out the listings in the bar. And if the big screen isn't on in the bar then ask the staff to turn it on (not Fri & Sat after 10pm).
When is the bar open?
Mon-Thu, Sun 6pm-2am
Fri & Sat 6pm-3am
Does it cost anything to get into the bar?
It's usually free to get into the bar. However, we charge a small entrance fee (about 2-3€) after 8pm on Friday & Saturday nights if there's live music. The charge includes the use of a staffed cloack room.
Is the bar closed on any of the Finnish national holidays?
Usually Juhannuspäivä (Midsummer Day), Joulupäivä (Christmas Day), and Uudenvuodenpäivä (New Years Day). But any closing days will be advertised in advance in the bar and on the website.
What drinks do you sell?
Mainly whiskies, beers & ciders. We also stock all the major brands of spirits and mixers too.
The whiskies are chosen from the best selections from mainly Ireland and Scotland. The beers and ciders are from all around the world. Also have coffee, tea and hot chocolate.
Lost property, I left something behind in the bar.
It's probably best to come into the bar and enquire in person or you can contact the bar by phone (during openning hours) or email.
Do you sell food in the bar?
We sell bar snacks consisting of English crisps (great flavours), nuts, beef jerky, and sandwiches.
But no hot food I'm afraid.
